How do the parents not go running at the sound of the dresser going down?

This was my thought immediately when I saw this on the news. Like, the parents are in the house and the kids are awake. What were they doing for that long that they didn’t hear the crash?

Also, they are incredibly lucky the dresser drawers didn’t go back in properly when it fell.

That was fun commentary, but holy hell, as the father of three boys, two of them twins, this was painful to watch the first time I saw it. There is a story just today in our local paper about a baby who suffered a traumatic brain injury because a TV fell on him. Not one of these skinny LCDs, but a big “box” TV.

There have been many comments here and elsewhere wondering where the mother was. I admit, it’s difficult to be there with your kids 100% of the time, and they may have woken up from a nap without her realizing it. Still not sure how she didn’t hear it fall though. Maybe it’s a big house, maybe the one kid cushioned its fall and it didn’t make much noise. That’s a very fortunate family.

I’m sure shit happens and there’s a very good reason they weren’t there within the 1mn the video was cut off relative to the time the dresser fell.

Just because they weren’t there that quickly doesn’t mean they’re bad parents

Because any kind of comical commentary to take away from the parental negligence in this video.
