1989 325i turbo build, everything is new. Pretty much a restored car for $20k cad / $15k usd. This could turn me practical.
312hp / 280lbft at the wheels.

I say NP, but after the owner makes the suspension stock

I dont mind the way it sits, but from the craigslist ad “h&r super sport springs”. I’m sure you could get stock springs if you wanted.
But then it wouldn’t be stance yo.

Since the E30 wagons seem to be above 10k, given this is pretty much a restored one with a turbo, NP.

There are e30's with full euro e36 m3 swaps out there that can be had for around 10k. I would think that swap would be more desirable than this Touring. So I would start my pricing about there. I would prefer the swap with 99% BMW parts, myself.

Interesting car. But for CAD$20K, there are many newer/cheaper cars I would get before dropping that much on this.
And I’m not a fan of stretched tires and the lowered suspension.

I was unaware wagons went for that much. I’m liking this idea the more I think about it.

Well, they never sold the E30 wagon in the states, so they have to be imported. Personally I would probably spend 15k alone for a fully restored e30 rolling chassis, if I had the money, the engine rebuild just makes it a little more sweet.

This LS swap was a pretty a close NPOCP vote at $26k USD http://jalopnik.com/for-26-000-could-this-ls3-powered-1988-bmw-e30-tourin-1787744728
So turbo on a stock engine versus LS, which some might prefer, but either way this is a lot cheaper...

They might be $10k but I doubt they are as thoroughly refreshed as this one. OEM parts are a lot more desirable when you think about repairing it, but I’m still in the NP camp.

Yea $10k is big difference, which the LS might be worth. But this price is far more justifiable.

I only know about these because my BIL is a big fan and owns a swapped E30. His is very well sorted and apart from the carbon fiber intake looks factory. I go to shows with him sometimes and see them for sale. There aren’t many comparable cars out there to base this decision on lol.
