It’ll be a long time before the Corvette has such a massive engine ever again. How low do you guys think the C6 Z06 will depreciate? Mind you a decent one can be had now for under 35K

Maybe a C5Z, but not a C6Z, unless wrecked. That said, the LS7 worries me a bit, valve guides would be the first order of business.

$25,000 list (so around $19,000 will be the absolute bottom end). I still think the used car market is increasing prices across the board as buyers begin to see $32,000 as an “average” car price. I remember when $25,000 was seen as a splurge a decade ago.

The spread between ‘06-’13 Z06's is around $10-15K? The bottom seems to be mid-low 30's for ‘06-’08 ones. Pretty good indication that’s where they will stay as the newer C6s age.

Agree with Arrivederci the LS7 does have some nagging problems, be sure they are addressed before taking the plunge. They are beast automobiles otherwise.

Wouldn’t say massive engine because it is still the LS small block just stroked and bored for sleeves. Yes massive displacement but if you want massive engine the L18 Vortec 8.1L (496 ci) big block was a massive and probably the last big block we will never see again. Made from 2000-2009

They seem to be strongly catching the eye of enthusiasts already (can’t blame them, I would love to have one myself). I would suspect that good examples have bottomed out in price. That being said, there will be less and less good examples.

I actually think that in time similar year and mileage Z06 models may be worth more than ZR1 models. Late Z06 models had similar hardware to the ZR1 minus the engine, they were monsters on the track. A 2005 ran a 7:42.9 on the Nurburgring, a 2012 model pulled a 7:22.68! Only 3 seconds off pace of a ZR1 and only 1.5 seconds off of a 488 GTB!
