Brake warning light came on. Likely a sensor as brakes were done ~5000 mi ago.

Well how is the fluid level? And make sure the whole reservoir is full since there is often a segmented area for front/rear discs. Alternatively, the sensor in that master cylinder could be the issue.

Right on the Max line. Still seems to stop fine though that little yellow light really strips away my confidence.

Both Front and Back? along with Rotors? It came on in my Mini a little over a month ago. The Minis have 2 sensors fyi, usually one front left and another rear right..

This car went through what my mechanic calls the no kill Mini shelter. Before I took delivery of it in the spring every wear item on the car was replaced.

I’d also wonder if the ebrake or ABS is at fault. I can’t imagine there is pad wear sensor on Minis.

Ebrake is holding strong and the abs light is not illuminated. I do believe it has pad sensors though there should still be plenty of pad left after only 5k.

Regardless check it with a code scanner, I used ICarly and figured out the problem was in the rear brakes for my car not the front. The wear sensor would be the first check point, make sure its not frayed. and its a simple twist off/on connector. If it looks fine, then my guess is the Rotor/Pads on atleast one end is worn out. One of my mechanics showed me the diagnostic tool they use to measure faults, and it came back saying that my rear brakes had about 2% material left.

Were the rotors replaced, or resurfaced?

My sister’s VW hated resurfaced rotors and would activate the ABS even on minor stops if it felt they weren’t 100%. Whenever I did the brakes for her, I just sucked it up and bought new rotors everytime.

Cool, Let me know if you have any questions.. I did a lot of research on this and was going to do the fix my self, by my wife didn’t want me messing around with what is essentially a safety device..

They tend to go bad on these cars. The wires are relatively unprotected.

I just stopped bothering to replace mine. you can tie the two ends of the wire together and bypass it. Its not like I get my car inspected every year...
