Both next-gen cars are getting hybrid variants. I demand a head to head battle between these two; or else I’m gonna make it happen. :p
There should be a miniseries on hybrid performance cars battling it out, and it should be called “Hybrid Warfare”, or something. :)

I am all for alternative fuels and electric cars and such, but until our power grid gets off coal I just don’t care. You don’t get to be snotty about your Tesla or Prius when all you are doing is making trading off using gasoline to creating more demand on the power grid making them burn more coal or natural gas etc. Until we have renewable energy backing up our power grid, there isn’t a lot of helping out. Now getting the electricity from said fossil fuels may be slightly more efficient form of energy than the gasoline internal combustion engine (this is information I do not know, just making an example), but I am sure it wouldn’t be enough. So I just don’t really care about Hybrids or electric cars other than that means more petrol reserves for me and my vehicles.

I agree 100% about getting the grid off of fossil fuels. I believe they actually are worse for the environment if run on fossil fuel power plants because they have to mine a bunch of battery materials.
Some people though have solar panels on their house to help support their car usage. I have a friend who had solar panels even without a car, he pulled in enough energy from them that he sold it back to the grid and was on the positive side of his bill.
Even here in Metro Detroit there’s big solar farms popping up. I think the energy companies are finally getting to a point where the panels are efficient enough to make them money over the fossils.

I want to see this war. People have been freaking out about the idea of a hybrid Mustang. As long as the V8 is still an option I don’t care how many other models are available.
