No purchase yet, but we found an affordable and comfortable 5-seater sectional that will squeeze into this curious living room. The photos are to show what little room we have to work with, and how I’ll have to move my heater and block that useless corner closet that was part of the unfortunate remodel that ocurred some decades ago.
There was an awesome 4-seater couch that was 85x85 (L-shaped) that, when rotated 90 degrees counterclockwise, would have been perfect and not blocked anything — except it was leather only, which our cats will destroy... I am at times resenting my own cats for things like this. We found a similar sized cloth one but it was cheaply made and also ugly.
Also: fuck Macy’s furniture. We roll in there and shop around and I find a couch that measures almost perfectly for my needs and our room. It was a effectively a couch with another secontional at 90 degrees with no armrests but a full back. It was comfy as hell and came in two colors we really liked. For the record, the service was excellent. But here’s where it turned sour.
“How much is it in these 4 pieces?”
“$1349.99"
“Great!”
“Just to let you Macy’s has a delivery fee —”
“Oh, I would just pick it up.”
“Oh, ahh, Macy’s only does delivery, you can’t pick it up yourself.”
“Oh uh, that’s... Hmm. How much is delivery?”
“It would be $192.00"
“Wow.”
“What colors were you interested in.”
“Oh, this green or this blue probably.”
“Well just to let you know, this grey [you’re sitting on] and the brown are the only ones we have stocked, so the other colors would be an extra $340.00"
“Ohh... Huh.”
“Yeah...”
So what was a $1349 couch became a $2043.61 couch after fees and taxes. NO.

Can you drywall the closet off and access it from a different area? Or is it so useless you wouldn’t even bother to do that?
Also, if you have a la-z-boy furniture gallery near you perhaps you might want to take a stroll through there. My wife and I purchased a recliner, loveseat and couch there a couple of years ago. We were only looking for the recliner, but the coach and loveseat were floor models we got a killer deal on. It was right around this time of the year too.

I had to use painters tape to show a contractor where I wanted a kitchen cabinet to be installed once.

The nice thing about Macy’s furniture is the extended warranty. My inlaws have a precocious 4 year old who loves to paint. They’ve received a few complimentary couches and a rug

ALEART!!! That painters tape can pull your floors finish off! pull it up slowly asap. we did similar (made our kids a “race track” through the house left it on for a week and it pulled the finish up and coSt me thousands of dollars and never looked right again. Google it if you don’t believe me. I’m to lazy to find a pic now.

I’ve been thinking the same thing about my dogs lately. Can’t have a nice backyard with grass because they will kill it, can’t have nice stuff inside because they will mark all over it. I think I’m taking a break from dogs for a while after the ones we have go to doggy heaven.
