Since the wayback machine seems to have been turned on today, I turn to the dark days of car audio when even aftermarket all in ones were expensive and take you to the weird world of under dash add ons.

In 1984 you buy a cassette deck add on at Radio Shack

But you say I need FM the wonderful world of under dash add ons had you covered there as well, you could add FM to your AM radio you paid too much at the dealer.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

Need both well the after market had you covered

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

I started thinking about these today as I remember my father moving an FM modulator between 3 different cars before finally getting a factory cassette deck in 1984

We remember... but you forgot to include the clunkiest, sharpest cornered version of them all, the Cobra CB-radio! essential for the family wagon / truck driver crossover. Thanks for the trip down memory lane

my dad had an add-on equalizer in his C10, still sitting in the garage waiting for the right project car.

You forgot the humble graphic equalizer with a built-in spectrum analyzer. No car stereo from the ‘80s was complete without one. I think I still have one in a box in the attic

My friend’s uncle has this from his dad’s old F100. We hooked it up to some decent speakers and it sounded shockingly good

Do people actually pay this much for these relics? I had one of those Sanyo-pretty good for the time. But $350 + $85 shipping? C

I doubt it you can ask whatever you want but in my Ebay selling experiance, no one pays more than $50 for vintage car electronics that is not NOS factory stuff. That stuff can go for $1000s
