Anyone else have a habit of getting two-day hangovers? 2016 just keeps on giving. Woke up with a pulsing headache at 3:00am and I didn’t drink anything but H2O and Vitamin Water yesterday. Send help.

Very rarely, yesterday I had a combination didn’t get any sleep last night and hangover combined. Feel fine today though.

I shifted mine quickly, even though it was severe. Induce vomiting when you wake up, then isotonic sports drink to rehdrate and a nap. Works perfectly. As a student I worked to perfect a hangover defeating method XD.

In my youth I could get hammered smashed to all hell with barely any trace of a hangover.
Now, when really overdo it my stomach isn’t right for a week.

You need to eat a bowl of menudo. It’s a spicy Mexican soup made with beef tripe (and sometimes, pigs feet), hominy, and loads of savory and bitter spices.

My tio made two giant roasters of it for New Year’s because that’s how we do! Wasn’t as good as my mama’s (seriously, can anyone ever beat mom’s cooking? Nope.), but it was pretty dang tasty.
Also, you know you might be Mexican (or Mexican-American) if you ever came home from school on a Friday and saw this sitting on a counter top in your kitchen:

That’s awesome! One of the best things about Hispanic households during the holidays is the amount of amazing food there is. The only person who can beat mom’s cooking is Grandma’s cooking! My Grandma (RIP) taught my mom and her 5 sisters everything they know about cooking. I used to eat menudo at my neighbors house growing up, she used to babysit me and I think she’s the reason why I love all things spicy.
At home living in a PR/DR household our staple cold/rainy weather food is sancocho. Our variation includes throwing in Yuca and calabaza among the other ingredients.
Now I’m STARVING!

I learned how to make Dominican arroz con pollo a couple of years back from a Dominican friend. ZOMG! So good!
I swear, chicken and rice could bring about world peace. Pretty much every culture has their own variation of how to combine and serve those two simple ingredients and it is yummy every single time.

Dominicans work magic with rice and beans lol. My favorite is arroz con gandules with a beautifully prepared pernil. Divine! One of my best friends can’t eat pork because it makes him super sick but he will still eat a few pieces of pernil just because it’s that good.
If anything can bring world peace it will definitely be great food!

I LOVE Mexican food. Never heard fanything menudo though. I’m of Ukrainian descent, and I reallllly don’t like Ukrainian food. It’s all there is at family events. I usually end up stopping at Chick Fil A before holiday dinners. Haha
