Kinja'd!!!

New Year, new start! But since the battery is usually the culprit let’s do a three vehicle garage where the batteries are located in different places. Got the hook up? Holla if ya hear me and as always, enjoy yo’selves!

*This Dream Garage inspired by the fact I just replaced the Amanti’s battery this morning and realized all my vehicles have batteries in different locations.

Amanti, driver’s side under the hood.

WK2, under the passenger seat.

XF, passenger side of the trunk.

On the Jeep I see the battery placement being idiotic. If you have power seats but your battery is dead what would you do?

I think you’d have to jump it enough to operate the seat or detach the seat. My only guesses if there is absolutely no power in the vehicle.

I feel like a pleb. Every car I’ve owned had the battery under the hood :(

Porsche, in front of the windshield, center. M5 where your heavy spare tire rots in the trunk. No spare. 1980's 325e has it in the trunk too but red is ground, as you’ll discover while trying to jump a Mitsubishi in the dark and spot welding the cables in place.

This is why FCA should hire me as an engineer.

Ha, I already have that too:

Triumph 2000, VW GTI, VW Scirocco: Typical location in the engine bay.

Audi Allroad: Sandwiched between the engine and the windscreen.

MGA: Two 6v batteries underneath the car, forward of the rear axle. Replaced with a single 12v battery and converted to negative earth for convenience’s sake.

Dream garage? Maybe not so much. But I like it anyway.
