FCA is my least favourite auto manufacturer around right now.

Kinja'd!!!

But the LX platform siblings are some of my favourite cars currently on sale. Funny how those things work.

Kinja'd!!!

I’ve always maintained that the Charger and SRT 300 are the closest thing that North America has to Australia’s muscle sedans (Commodore/Falcon/HSV Senator/HSV Grange, et cetera). I quite like that. They’re completely archaic without being cumbersome, they’re big, floaty, powerful V8 sedans. Or coupe if we’re referring to the Challenger.

How I see it is:

Charger = Commodore/Falcon

300 = Senator/Grange/Calais

Challenger = Monaro

Of course, like all good things that FCA actually has, Marchifuckass will probably axe the entire platform and replace it with some stupid Jeep or Fiat 500 derivative because FUCK actually making a wide variety of cars.

I’ve got a soft spot for the 500 Abarth and 4c but otherwise... wow. Yeah. Completely agree. (not sure if the soft spot is in my heart, or my head...)

I like both of those too. The 4C is WAYYYYYYYYY too expensive though.

I’ve slowly come to the realization that I do indeed want a hellcat. I thought it was completely stupid when it came out and always thought the new chally looked bloated, but as the mustang and Camaro keep angling towards the euro sports cars, I’ve come to respect a big heavy absurdly powerful American style cruiser. Hamsters donuts just sealed the deal. That’s about it though, the abarth sounds wonderful but I hated everything about the interior so I passed on that when I was in the market last year. I guess if I hit the lotto I’d consider a giulia or maybe a 4c, but only after that hellcat.

I love their brands, especially the Italian ones - it’s just managed in a terrifying way.

Aside from Chrysler’s notoriously shitty materials and mediocre reliability, it is the only common domestic full-size RWD car platform... The Chevy SS is the only other full-size RWD car I can think of badged by a domestic manufacturer, but it isn’t built here.

I’ve always been a fan of the Chrysler 300 and Dodge Charger for the reasons you cite - decent power, RWD, reasonable handling, and pretty good ride - it’s my favorite common rental car of the last 10+ years.

Yeah, it’s weird. They’re a pretty terrible company in general and on very shaky ground, but out of all automakers, I think FCA has a higher percentage of products that I genuinely like. 300, Charger, Challenger, Wrangler, Ram Pickup, 500 Abarth, 124 Spider, Alfa, Maserati, even the Renegade.

I don’t think they have any shortage of talent in the design and product planning areas, but very definitely a shortage of money, myopic upper management, and iffy quality control.

Well, I wish one of them was a bit smaller. But it makes me happy that American brands are sticking with somewhat performance oriented RWD cars.

Agree 100% with this. I still lust heavily for an AWD Chrysler 300c with the now-discontinued V8/AWD combination.

The Chevy SS is literally an australian muscle sedan.

Exactly, meaning it’s not North American.
