I have a strong desire to purchase this for me and my 14 year old son as a project, and turn it into a Ford version of the Roadkill General Mayhem. Keep the look, install roll cage and use it as a rally car.
It would be a “bonding” experience for me and my boy.

$3500 seems like a lot of money. Nice car, though, and three-on-the-tree is unusual. You could install a floor-shifted 4- or 5-speed quite easily.

That is interesting, but maybe a slushbox for his first car. And I believe ‘69 was the year they added more safety equipment (shoulder belts, etc.). Or get a clapped out Volvo 240 - he can fix it, then run it into anything he wants!
